Help Us Grow the Next Generation of Leaders & Double Your Impact Today!
Summer is here and that means we are getting in gear for our Summer Youth Entrepreneurship Program which is in the second year of a daily 6 week program! This program offers paid summer jobs to 24-30 local youth and offers unique opportunities and experiences.
We are so excited to start working with the summer team leader staff this week and have a great crew (Jiamond, Jaelin, Maddie and Rima) getting trained and ready to work with the teens.
This program will follow the same design as last year, where our teens were exposed to various entrepreneurial topics that tie into food and farming, such as herbalism, bee keeping, natural dyes, podcasting, different kinds of farming, and specialty food products.
Last year’s team worked together in developing an advocacy mission for their business and then created their own product of Hot Topics hot sauce in two flavors- which some of you may have had the opportunity to try at our farm market last summer! It was delicious!
But here’s the challenge:
Although we are hiring some teens through the District’s SYEP Program, many of our neighborhood youth most in need were not able to complete the full application process or submit by the early deadline for this program
It is key to Common Good's mission to hold spots specifically for these youth to participate in the program. To fulfill our commitment to providing paid summer jobs for all 30 teens, provide them with breakfast and lunch each day and coordinate guest speakers and field trips, we need to raise an additional $15,000.
Thanks to an anonymous donor, every dollar you give will be matched — up to $9,000 — through June 30th!
Any amount helps — every dollar gets us closer to fully funding all 30 youth. Give now and double your impact: your support ensures no teen is turned away from this transformative experience.
Match Deadline: June 30th — let’s grow the future together!
Let’s sow the seeds of opportunity and watch our young leaders grow.
Thank you for believing in our teens and investing in their future.
